Positive, though the rapidness of change (even for the positive) can be unsettling at times.

Pros

Flexible time off and work schedule, ability to work from home when you like, senior management devoted to maintaining a relaxed and fun company culture. Strong emphasis on work-life balance and overall pleasant work atmosphere with many perks.

Cons

Mid-level management often managing employees with more experience and knowledge, opportunities for advancement infrequent despite frequent restructuring of teams and departments.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior leadership does a fantastic job of communicating down--free flow of information hits a hiccup with mid-level management. Try to overcome this obstacle.

A sales driven organization that feels like a grade-school playground sometimes

    Pros

Fun environment, lots of events, very smart people, rigorous hiring process, free food often, plenty of access to resources/training, great peers to learn from. Decent benefits for families.

    Cons

Growing pains: Parking is crappy, shortage of restrooms, workspaces are small and yet not organized for collaboration: people sitting at folding tables, different workspaces for different departments with no sense to it. Engineering (Developer) political clout way too high and quality/respect suffers. Management is a very small tight circle that commands and controls in a manipulative/bad parenting "Here's some candy now shutup" kind of way. Benefits are poor for singles. Lack of attention to depth and quality. Poor software architecture based on embedding and tangling into systems. More focus on acquisition of customers and employees than on executing strategy and tactics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show a clear purpose, strategy, and focus for all of the growth... all of the pain of growth doesn't seem purposeful or measured. No clear direction other than to "Sell to everyone no matter what."

High learning curve, but good support system and room for growth

    Pros

Perceptive is a great work environment. A real attempt is made to create a fun and creative place to work. There is some lack of organization and consistency, but given the determined growth of the company this is not out of place or really even a negative

    Cons

Although they are making an effort, there are still real inequalities in the compensation and promotion track. Until they cut away the luck of the draw approach to the plum assignments necessary to meet the metrics of promotion, there will be talent that looks elsewhere out of frustration

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

On the surface the use it when you need it vacation time is great, but underneath there is an implicit punishment for taking time off. This 'earned' time off doesn't count towards your utilization and as a direct result, time off will almost guarantee that you will not be eligible for a quarterly bonus. At the end of the day it feels really bush league.
