I have been working at PerkinElmer full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Work with smart, dedicated people
Products created are for the betterment of people

Cons

Reorg within the Life Sciences (LST) has killed confidence and enthusiasm
All company assets have moved to Boston area, limiting options for advancement
With all the restructuring, R&D progress is stalled and excitement of product creation no longer there

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication has been awful for the past 2 years. No one is confident in their position remaining in the next coming quarter

    Pros

    No redeeming qualities exist for this company.

    Cons

    PerkinElmer is run by accountants and Wall Street. There is no vision other than to milk the product lines they have acquired and layoff the staff at the acquired companies. If you are at a company that was acquired, watch out.

    PorknElmer for the Butter!

    PE was a good company. They started out strong.

    Cons

    Upper Management. Things are getting worst with layoffs.
