It was good pay and really close to home.
Cons
EVERYTHING ELSE. THIS PLACE Has NO CLUE WHO ITS BEST WORKERS ARE. I WAS THE ONLY guy certified to work on a particular technology. I was doing work that three people could do. Solving problems that they would need professional services people from the technology firm to solve, training and literally doing work for the new guys in the team.
They still laid me off. By the time I left I can challenge anyone in Perot Systems to show me a guy who was better than me at working on the specific technology.
Advice to Senior Management
Find ways to keep your best talent. Let this not be a club where you keep your friends and let other go irrespective of their abilities. And some managers need to learn to keep their word. Be a man!
