I worked at Perrigo

Pros

Opportunities to learn. Generally good company with strong work ethic. A lot of decent people at this company. Most people are willing to help even if you're a pain.

Cons

Incompetent HR department; if it gets too complicated they seem to look the other way. This company doesn't seem to have a clue how to select products. They continuously rush into projects that are later dropped.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of you need to clean up your act. The HR department needs to be more proactive, particularly when management oversteps the line.

I have been working at Perrigo

    Pros

Growing, stable, mostly very good management, Some opportunities to move around, especially inside the same functional group (i.e. operations or quality).

    Cons

Some areas are extremely hard to get into, some managers are very poor at their jobs (very, very few), some areas are really silo'd and can be difficult to work with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Help people move around, especially if they are going to school for a particular field and don't currently work in that field.

I have been working at Perrigo full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, easy jobs with realistic employee expectations. Benefits are some of the cheapest in the area if you meet their fitness criteria.

    Cons

Antiquated manufacturing processes and an old school business model signals a focus on short term profits rather than long term viability

Low expectations of employees on almost every level can be very frustrating for managers

Recent changes to wages and benefits and a corporate inversion to maximize profits, may be a warning to anyone considering a job offer here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on making perrigo a state of the art, trend setting industry leading manufacturing facility for long term success. Too much focus on spending pennies to make nickels short term instead of spending real money for long term success. Adopting manufacturing processes 10 years or more after they are considered innovative is not a good plan.
