Pros

good compensation and health plans for you and your pet, bonus $$$ :)

Cons

say bye to your personal life, especially if you are a new hire. no weekends, no holidays, no time off from october to january. the way the company is moving now i feel like i am a salesperson and not a manager. Promotions can take more than a year :(

Advice to Management

Look for internal talent, some of us are being wasted just because we intimidate them by having more educational training, sad to say it but it is true

    Pros

Coworkers are great, many of them very knowledgeable and caring about pets.

    Cons

Pay sucks- you get .05-.25 cent bonuses every few months. Management too lazy to cover your breaks & lunches, sometimes we didn't even get them. Some customers overly zealous about their pets so you have to be careful

    Advice to Management

Stop coming into the store criticizing every minute detail. It's never going to look 100% perfect. Also, stop harassing the dog trainers and threatening them with their job. They can't FORCE people to buy classes!

    Pros

Corporate office has gym and daycare on campus and is located near a hospital, shopping and plenty of restaurants near by for lunch.

    Cons

Makes a lot of promises, but doesn't deliver. Management makes people feel unvalued. Teams are understaffed. Heavy workload with unrealistic deadlines. Work environment is very negative and unsupportive. Company used to be more about people, now seems to care only about the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the office politics and start living your brand internally—"caring, authentic, knowledgeable,
playful"—it's not noticeable within the corporate environment. Management's mantra of "Perception is everything" is the reason morale is so low and good associates are leaving in droves.
