    I worked at Philips Healthcare as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

    Management is fair and encourages suggestions. Coworkers look for ways to help one another to succeed. There are opportunities to learn more ways to help do your job. What I liked most is that management will support their employees in the event of customer complaints. This is a customer service job and there are occasional customer complaints, usually from the same curmudgeons. However, most of the customers call regularly and are great to work with.

    Cons

    Because it is a customer service job, you are tied to the telephones and only allowed short breaks. Most training done online and expected to be taken between phone calls.

    I worked at Philips Healthcare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Smart, kind, and collaborative people, who really care about the company's mission (evolving healthcare to improve patient outcomes and increase shareholder value). Appear to be addressing the inefficiencies that have stood in their way with their Accelerate strategy (see earnings releases)

    Cons

    Struggling to change an inefficient and bureaucratic legacy. Ongoing downsizing over last four years. Unclear whether Accelerate can reverse the decline.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Good luck. A great company that deserves success. Live up to the empowerment messaging in your Accelerate strategy and beware of your tendency toward centralization.
