I worked at Physiotherapy Associates full-time (more than an year)

Pros

close to home, great co-workers and patients

Cons

constant changes in policies or procedures, focus is on numbers NOT patient care although they claim patients are the main priority, employees are treated poorly and unfairly, management in my area was not honest with employees (say one thing and do another), marketing is totally the responsibility of directors & clinic employees, change requirements or ignore bonuses even when clinic hits numbers. they do not deal well with women having babies, you will probably loose your position. basically this good ole boy group they will step on you and keep you wondering if you will have a job next week every chance they get

Advice to ManagementAdvice

sell to a competitor and let the employees feel like they have some job security & stability

I have been working at Physiotherapy Associates full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I would say the two best pros are the PTOs (18 days to start) and the fact that they don't use techs for treatment; at least in MW region. They also have a central website that contains various resources that comes in handy.

    Cons

Unfortunately many cons compared to pros. They display a top down management model where the managers above directors offer little support to the clinics. Their way or the highway attitude. Disappointing CEU offerings. Extremely few opportunities for continued growth for a clinician. All CEUs have to be approved from top management and are based on how your clinic is doing financially. The company is highly metric driven without much focus on quality and staff appreciation. Very high turn over with staff which makes their standards for growth unrealistic. New graduates have quit in less than 1 year. Expectations for marketing are ridiculous. They expect the clinic to market to all the doctors after little or no training. The only training they have for marketing is a 'Service first ' model which was a 2 day training for directors with one marketing consultant. They also attempt to hire inexperienced marketing reps and pay them based on commission. On call Saturdays is another negative aspect; used for bad weather or high cancel rates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not all regions are the same. Should not have across the board standards. Need to focus on appreciation to all staff and creating a positive work environment. Many unhappy workers.
