I have been working at Pier 1 Imports

Pros

The people that work there are very friendly and always helpful. Whenever i need help they always there. I feel like the managers always notice when ive done a good job and they dont pressure me to get ICs.

Cons

Some of the customers can be rude but thats with any job! I can really say thats a con for the store in itself.

    Pros

Great people at the store level, employee merchandise discount, convenient locations throughout the country, a lot of great, interesting merchandise

    Cons

Managements disregard for employees lives outside of work, work schedule-basically on call 24/7, routinely cuts hours the store operates on and many employees work very few hours. no health benefits to most employees who work in the store-you must be full time and there are basically no full time positions except for the overworked managers, their "flex-hours" shifts are rediculous-most hourly employees are not called in for these shifts and if ruins an employees day because they don't know if they will be working. Inconsistent standards are routinely used towards store managers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees are human and have needs too! When an employee is basically put on call for a "flex shift" they should be compensated for their time. Use of consistent standards towards Store Managers from Regional Managers
