Pros

Pier One Imports is a very nice, fast-paced yet laid back place to work at. There are always several associates and at minimum one manager on at a time, making all of the work very managable. The managers are very professional, and we always get done what is needed to be done, but they are all about having fun while working, and still being professional. Every day at Pier One is a day that we get a lot of work done, but more importantly we all have a ton of fun while doing it. I love working here because we always have so much fun!

Cons

One downside to working at Pier One Imports would be that the store changes very often. Every couple of days we have to move displays, and moving the displays are very, very time consuming and diffucult. We will often get a small, hard to see picture of how the new display is supposed to look sent to us by corporate. Since these pictures are so hard to read, we often have to do it on our own, which is harder than it may seem because we have so many rules pertaining to color and size placements. If they managers were not so fun, this part of the job would be nearly unbearable, but they definitely add a lot of fun to it, and they make it seem easy to do.

Advice to Senior Management

If i had to give some advice, I would say to be more hands on. The store manager is usually out on the floor helping us, but the regional manager is rarely there providing direction, and anybody above him rarely communicates to the stores except for a few e-mails a month.
