Pros

nice staff but they tend too push medicines within three days to most of patients a mantra of you are depressed, suicidal, and any other negative response to make the patients believe they need to dose themselves to believe they are getting better the classes they host for patients can be helpful if they are motivated with more positive feedback from staff

Cons

the staff has response of calm down relax are you in pain to patients and if you are take a med they do push medicine on patients quite frequently i have no way to prove if they do water testing where the temperature increases while someone bathes, but do believe a roommate that encountered a rise water heat that was told that it was not intended for them sounded fishy and dangerous practice that needs to be addressed by management

Advice to Management

during my stay the patients chart for patients coming and going was at the desk and as patient i was going to give it to a staff member who would not let give it to a legal that was visiting me i tried to give a chart a legal rep so they could understand how easy to get a chart of the patients coming and going i hope they stop leaving charts at desk for all to see

    Pros

At Pine Rest, I am a resident care provider at the adult secure unit. The pay is decent and there are always hours to pick up if you are not full time. The benefits are also pretty good compared to most other part time jobs.

    Cons

The position can be very stressful, depending on where you are. Some people love it and some hate it. Make sure you ask good questions at your interview so that there are not any surprises.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend making sure that prospective employees know what they are getting themselves in to and not just try to hire anyone that walks in the door.

  2. TIRESOME, Often work longer just to keep up with the pace.

    Pros

The regulars (patients) are great. Most of them like seeing your familiar face and it helps the high stress involvement. The PTO is decent, however you get alloted hours towards EVERYTHING- illness, vacation, holidays..etc., There are some great people that work for Pine Rest so when you actually take a breath and converse with coworkers it can be fun.

    Cons

High Stressful environment. You harden from patients consistantly flying off the handle. Getting copays @ appts can be a battle. Pay is not worth the hard work involved. Outpatient clinics are rude to one another and gossip about each other, teamwork between clinics is AWEFUL. Often work is unbalanced, some people have to pick up slack for others. No advancement Opport.

    Advice to Management

Step in for conflicts. Don't expect the coworkers to handle situations between themselves and patients. Delegate work balance, do not cater to whiney coworkers.
