Pros

Fantastic work space....the wilderness in Northern Arizona. Good colleagues and diverse backgrounds. All of the worker staff are great people with varied histories from lawyers to air force to business owners.

Cons

They have grown so much, therefore they must have more systems in place. They have become much more rigid and controlling of the staff. Must be a hazard of growth but it stiffles the creativity and fun that is thier business. The first few years may be tough but ....keep your nose clean...and they will keep you around for years.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more flexible.

    Pros

    Excellent training right off the bat and when training was finished I felt more than confident in my position. Everyone is very friendly, welcoming, and has no problem lending a helping hand. The benefits are excellent and the entry-level position pay is one of the highest in town. During "high season" you get a couple weeks of catered lunches due to the high demand put on employees. And employee appreciation prizes, parties, and get -togethers are unparalleled to any other former employer of mine.

    Cons

    The guides have plenty of flexibility with their attire, but the customer service reps have little to none. Seeing as how this is an adventure tour company, you'd think the attire wouldn't be so rigid. Also, the CEO seems to be quite conservative and strict with his employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider your employees thoughts and opinions more when it comes to decision making or policy changes. If your employees aren't happy with the day-to-day goings on in the company, customers will begin to see it come through.

    Pros

    Clear and defined expectations at job, lots of employee appreciation programs, complicated systems to learn but the outcome when learned is highly effective.

    Cons

    some staff has been there so long that they only give marginal effort and are sometimes stuck in ways that are no longer effective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Not much advice to give - your operation is really strong. maybe offer cross training opportunities to promote internal advancement.
