I have been working at Pitney Bowes

Pros

The people who actual work there are the best around. There is a lot of work to do. Are cash flow is great. We have the best products around. Our competition is crap.

Cons

Sr Management does not know how to grow the business so they cut the very people who create value. Too many layers of Management. We spend more time explaining what we are doing then doing it. Not enough resources to get a good job done. We are told to be more productive. I wish Sr Management would lead by example instead of telling us to be more productive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Retire and let some inovated people lead us out of our mess.

    Pros

Great Benefits: price is not too high. Was great for my maternity leave
Autonomy: You don't have the managers breathing down your neck all day, unless your sales are really really poor
Decent comp plan: They've changed it up a nit, its a little harder now. Mail machines and renewals are you bread and butter sales and they've recently reduced that, but all in all fair comp that should bring in an extra 800-1000 dollars per month.

    Cons

Gas is expensive and they dont compensate enough for that
work alone: it can be lonely
pressure for sales: they do get all over you when youre consistently below quota
    tough when market is slow

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    change comp plan back!

I have been working at Pitney Bowes

    Pros

Career development & saoppotunities, potential compensation

    Cons

Workload, new products to learn ALL the time-WAY TOO many "solutions" to sell to be competent at all of them!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve the software we utilize in sales...some things take FOREVER to do. In a company where we provide time/cost savings solutions for our clients, we could be more efficient in our own operations!
