I worked at Pitney Bowes as a contractor (less than a year)

Pros

Nice people
Health center on site
Competitive Salary

Cons

The business units are very isolated from one another
Everyone expressed intentions to be innovative and try new things but no one really changed the way they worked - I understand there have been major changes since I left though.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage people to work across silos
Modernize leadership practices - a younger mentality from HR and more collaboration between execs would set a better example for the company to meet its potential and become truly innovative.

I have been working at Pitney Bowes full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good even though they have started to whittle away at some things.

    Cons

Old technology - I have a computer that came out in 2008 and there are no plans to upgrade. They still use XP network wide. It took them until 2012 to allow a version of internet explorer with tabs! Who uses IE6 these days? They tend to have meetings about meetings so nothing really gets done. When the economy went they got rid of service people and veterans who knew the products inside and out so they could make the bottom line better. The fact is they don't know what to do in an instant, social world and NONE of their internal processes are forward thinking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you are not agile in today's world you are fragile.

    Pros

Good benes but with most companys you pay for your insurance.

    Cons

All the managers lye to you to get you in the door. They do this because they know that most people won't last longer than six months.you won't see a comission check until six months or on month 7. That is only if you hit the minimum threshold to get a paycheck. When you get hired you get a guaranteed bonus and a base salary of $50k. What they don't tell you is that you will your base will drop down to $35k. You will be working 60-70 hrs a week. Not an ethical compay to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be truthful when hiring someone.
