Pitney Bowes – “Good Short Term Job”
3 of 3 people found this helpfulPros
They;ll give you a book of business to write. Just remember that PB has almost 80% of the market, so once you've renewed all of your leases and been paid fairly, it's your job to go out and find new business and drum up competitive accounts and convert them over to PB. There are plenty of products to offer a customer from the PB arsenal.
Cons
Oooh where to start....
Get ready for micro-management on steroids. If you think that this will be an outside, I'll go where I want when I want position, guess again. Report in hourly,m daily, weekly as to where you went, who you sasw, what you did, and why you did not do more....Sure they give you a laptop and a phone....TO TRACK YOU WITH.
They're first year expectaions and salary goals for a new rep are an outright lie.
Your selling mail machines man......they try to tap into other markets....but they are still just a mm company. If you get an FSM (field sales manager) as your manager, then you've got a manager who is also responsible for selling and will have no time for you.. Your on your own bucko.
Advice to Senior Management
Lose the FSM poistion...they're a joke. Either sell, manage or step down and be a rep. The days of 100k 1st year reps is over
