Pros

Pivot goes above and beyond to support clients and employees with respect and honesty. Every employee is empowered to solve problems, with management who listens and takes action to back them up. It is a caring company that believes that "family comes first".

Cons

Work process can be tediously slow, due to the extreme need for accuracy. Sometimes this makes it difficult to respond quickly to clients. The upside is that the process eliminates most costly errors.

Advice to Management

Look for ways to streamline processes. Otherwise just keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at Pivot Interiors (More than 10 years)

    Pros

One of the biggest "pros" of Pivot is that the leadership is honest. At other places I've worked, they sometimes do things that are common business practice but are, in my opinion, ethically questionable or just plain dishonest - for example making it look like orders have shipped and invoiced when they have not yet, so the bank thinks the month is better than it actually is. I've never seen things like that happen at Pivot. Pivot is also truly trying to practice open book management, making sure all employees "know the score." If you have the desire, you can understand in pretty good detail how the business is run and what you can do to make a difference.

    Cons

No place is perfect. There are times of frustration at Pivot - whether it's with training, communication, management style, differences in processes, differences in discipline, and others. On the whole I think Pivot tries to do what is right and is typically open to hearing differing opinions and ideas.

    Advice to Management

Keep trying to get better and better.

  2. Very Disorganized

I have been working at Pivot Interiors full-time

    Pros

Wine Wednesdays, drinking from 3pm until end of day...usually hurt productivity. A lot of catered meetings.

    Cons

Training is not provided, in fact you're expect to train yourself. Dysfunctional office environment, lots of fighting between people and departments in office and between management and staff. Many people leave without word. Pivot interiors has a difficult time retaining highly talented people. The company is scrambling to try to become organized and have a "pivot way" to do things.

    Advice to Management

CEO: take a closer look at the San Francisco office.
