I have been working at Pizza Hut full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, decent tips, fair wage for drivers, fair mileage, limited benefits, and good coworkers.

    Cons

No full-time hours available except for management, and there are threats that this could change. If you want to advance in the company be prepared to sell yourself to the company as a slave. RGM's are required to work 60 hours a week, but due to low hourly rates for shift managers and high turn over they end up working a lot more than that. If you are a shift manager and want to drive, good luck with that. You will make more money as a driver, because due to high turn over you will be forced to work more hours as a manager and sometimes all of your hours will be manager hours. Training is poor, because there is no money to train new employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Pizza Hut wants A+ employees they need to pay them better. Shift managers need 20 driving hours a week at least if they are going to make enough money to make the job worth it. HIre a bunch of Shift Leads and give them 20 driving hours a week, this will help out with the high turnover. Also, understand that not everyone wants to promote because they don't want to be a Pizza Hut slave, it's called quality of life, and I know most RGM's working for pizza hut don't have one, so they must not know what it is. But, I ask of you RGM's to search deep within your memories and try to remember what that quality of life was like, and to understand why someone would not want to give that up by working 60 to 100 hours a week at a fast-food pizza chain.
