Pros

Free gym membership, really nice owners. You can't go wrong with we're yoga pants all day. Everyone there was really nice. Great if your looking for a second job.

Cons

The only thing was monitoring the 30 min. Room and kicking people out that we're not using that room for its purpose especially during peak hours.

    Pros

Some of the members are a real joy to be around, and many of the workers there are fun and enthusiastic which is infectious and helps you get through the day.

    Free gym membership.

    Cons

It really depends on who your manager is. If you have a club manager is who is mostly about the figures, making their numbers and hitting their targets to get their bonuses, then you become little else than a warm body to work to the bone. Oftentimes, as a front desk staff you'll be the ONLY employee in the entire club and everything is on you - customer service, phone calls, checking in members/guests, janitorial responsibilities, processing applications, doing tours, handling account disputes. At the club I worked at we were understaffed majority of the time. Instead of appreciating the employees that stayed, you're oftentimes punished with more work with no recognition - you're simply expected to take it on and be a "team player" without the team.

Also - each state has partners who co-own all of the clubs in that particular state. Some of them are really open-minded and easy to talk to, whereas others are very standoffish grandiloquent egomaniacs who won't listen to employee feedback. They operate one way and refuse to change even as the industry changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Visit your clubs in a low-key matter - as in unannounced, without over-the-top fanfare. Talk to your employees (all of them, not just higher-up ones like district managers). Listen to their input; they are the ones toiling everyday for you and know how the gym really operates and could provide you some additional insight on what improvements to implement.

    Pros

Free gym membership, regular members as well as co-workers make shifts fly by with laughs and a good time.

    Cons

Modern Day Slavery!!! Customer Service team on their hands and knees scrubbing gym equipment! Misleading information, no raises, under staffed, degraded by management. Even members complain and are in shock with the way workers are treated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk a mile (or two) in your Front Desk Employees shoes!
