I worked at Planet Fitness part-time

    Pros

In my very short time of employment with Planet Fitness I really couldn't find any "Pros" in working with this company.

    Cons

Deceiving and arrogant upper management. Ridiculously low wages. Extremely poor time management skills from supervisors and upper management. Unreasonable expectations of employees from supervisors and upper management, especially considering the low wages. Not nearly enough employees to operate the locations effectively. No benefits at all for part-time employees, which a majority of the positions are. Deception during the job interview as to what the employee's responsibilities will be. Overall, it is blatantly obvious that this company doesn't care about the employees at all. Supervisors and upper management come across like used car salesmen in an attempt to gain the trust of the employees, then they treat them like crap. If you're going to work for minimum wage (or close to it) anyway, my recommendation is to find a job somewhere else. There are plenty of places that pay the same amount (or more) as Planet Fitness that treat their employees much better. Keep looking...you will be glad that you did.

    Advice to Management

Try being honest, courteous, and decent to your employees and not just your customers. Hire an appropriate number of qualified people to run these locations and pay ALL of your employees a decent wage. Tell upper management and supervisors to check their attitudes at the door...after all, they're simply managing a gym....it's not like they're curing cancer or anything.

I worked at Planet Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyed being around active people and in a gym. People were very friendly and nice. Typically only promote managers and to corporate when you start off at member services so there is a lot of opportunity for advancement if you work hard.

    Cons

Not allowed to sit while working at all. No lunch breaks, had to eat while working and the pay is pretty horrible. As a member services rep I had to clean all the equipment too which was no fun.

    Advice to Management

Increase pay, and allow workers to sit for lunch atleast.
