Dissapointed as company talks the talk but can't walk the walk.

Senior Claims Representative (Current Employee)
Red Bank, NJ

ProsThe office (physically) is nice. Location is good. New logo is also okay.

ConsI have to laugh because I'm always hearing Gerry Wilson telling people how Plymouth Rock is a major player in the insurance market in NJ, however, some of the ways the company handles things are so dated and old. There is no growth and the business model is flawed. Almost all the business comes from agents. The issue is that agents are consistently writing less auto & homeowner policies each year - it's a fact. There seems to be no plan for growth to combat this. Furthermore, within the last year the company made a big deal that one can now purchase a policy online! Wow, only 15 years after Progressive and Geico were doing that. Try getting a quote online from Plymouth Rock - it is terribly slow and not user friendly. Face it - the bottom line is that the company is not growing and will continue to contract until someone else in the market buys the book of business and absorbs it into their growing business.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the good old boys club culture and retain top talent. This means treating and compensating the top talent. While you may not have as many friends as before, you will have competent top people willing to dig the company out of the hole it's in and start to the grow the company again.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
