Pros

Challenging work
Great people to work with
Good IT platform
Good knowledge sharing
Great safety record

Cons

Poor/no succession planning
People development needs work
People are generally overloaded with work, especially at the manufacturing plants
People who work at the plants are generally looked down upon by head office
Lean six sigma program misguided?

Advice to Management

Develop your people and train your managers to be coaches. Re-focus the Lean Six Sigma program on process improvement, instead of using it as a tool to save money.

    Pros

Very helpful colleges, good climate on lower levels of organisation

    Cons

Management worst ever, only focus on stock price and working capital.
No personal creativity, ideas, suggestions for improvements and new developments - simply blocked by management, cause it costs. Have no visions except rise of stock price.
Very long approval process via several levels of management kills everything.
Highly non-ethic behaviour against customers, suppliers and people working there; in contradiction to their own policy on the paper. People are not treated as humans by management and customers only to squeeze for higher margins.

    Advice to Management

Reduce headcountof non-productive managers, only existing for themselves and hunting for bonus others at the front / machine / in contact with the customers are earning.
Ask the people why so many of them are leaving even with competition clausle !

    Pros

Compensation is better than elsewhere. Benefits are good.
On average the company has been doing well in the market place.
The relatively new senior management seems to have a good vision (but are sabotaged by middle management that don't believe in that vision or have a complimentary vision)

    Cons

Compensation is higher than elsewhere in order to try to keep you there without leaving the company for a pay-cut.
The more expert you become in a certain area and/or length of employment will limit your career. Since there is not much depth in any position or group, there isn't much incentive to let you let you move up (not many openings anyway) or elsewhere. Succession planning and cross-training is almost non-existent.
Depending on what segment of the company you are in or what "project" you are working on, you will either be spending money like a drunken sailor or groveling for every crumb to get resources and/or equipment.
They say "Training is important" to keep good people performing in their job but when it comes time to ask/go to a real training course that will actually help you on that job the training/travel budget suddenly no longer exists. The motto seems to be: "In town and free" or select from our generic fluff in-house "business courses".
Just saying "thank you" is rarely done unless it's a sporadic, overdone public event. A once a year incentive bonus (yes, it's appreciated) is all that is thought needed by certain levels of management on a day to day basis.

    Advice to Management

There is more to the keeping and maintaining good employees than just good compensation.
Overall vision and management of in-flight projects need to be monitored rather than everyone off doing their own thing with those projects colliding for resources and budgets.
