Pros

Good people to work with, video culture and telecommuting very strong as one would expect. The communication from the top is fairly frequent, but does lack continuity from month to month as the company moves from hardware to software focus.

The technology is slick and used internally as a proof point as well as to test and refine use cases.

Cons

Shifting market forces are causing some pains as the company makes its way through changing priorities. Some communication is a bit premature as strategy is formed and in early stages. Lots of personnel changes in upper ranks exacerbates this as leadership changes focus and direction.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stabilize on software strategy and allow enough time for it to take root.

I have been working at Polycom full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good compensation- base salary, commission and accelerators.
Excellent products - easy to sell
    Well known brand
    Easy sales tools and procedures.

    Cons

    No career development
Unclear company future - may be acquired by other company ( Microsoft, IBM etc)
Tough management pressure- forecast and sales target. But I must admit that this fact is compensated by rather easy achieving of sales target - see pros.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I do not know. Taking into account that company is the only indepent VC vendor and this status is also temporary - plcm may be acquired by larger company- they do everything right - trying to get maximum for shareholders .
