I have been working at Populus Group full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

i cannot think of any except for timely paycheck

Cons

Poor benefits
Large commissions
Zero attention to employees. Profit Margin is the only goal.
Employees are struck with Benefits Health/ 401K that are worthless.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Spend sometime on thinking about what is good for your employees no just the profit margin

I worked at Populus Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

All of the full-time Populus employees I met in person were very nice. They left me alone to do my work and did not continuously ask me to try and place more people on my team. There is tuition available if you want to take a 1-2 class.

    Cons

While the people were nice, they were not transparent and unable to answer my "tough" questions about benefits I had selected upon hire. The medical benefits changed during my contract and left me with even worse options than the original. An optional scheduled monthly or quarteryly check-in with a benefits advisor would be nice.
In my first year nearly all of my internal contacts left the company.
Very little encouragement for training, what was offered was nice "how to be a good employee" stuff, but I never found anything to enhance my marketability or prepare me for a next contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to understand the benefits you are pushing out to your employees. If as a collective group of intelligent people you wouldn't use the benefit, or it doesn't seem like something you would want your family to live with, or get stuck with, then don't offer it.

I worked at Populus Group as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

    Received a small paycheck.
Met new people at the contracting company that were able to assist with networking.

    Cons

Lower than average pay because Populus takes a large cut from the company you are working for.

Very little notice that your contract is up.

Very little notice that your contract is extended.

The young HR person was very Unorganized with on-loading, forms, benefits, etc and not very knowledgable.

Inexperienced HR contacts errored on my benefits sign up multiple occasions.

Unprofessional communication with my contact at Populus Group.

I feel like most employees there are treated poorly as if their only position there is to make Populus money. They simply don't respond unless they are forced to.

Received my last paycheck late. I had to email my contact there on 5 occasions to get paid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    No thank you.
