Precision Castparts – “Good pay for slave work”
Pros
Salaries are competitive and the quarterly bonus plan is exceptional--when there are good financial/operational results.
Cons
They could care less about their customers. It is all about hitting cost goals. Work/life balance is non-existent. 12+ hour days starting at 6 a.m. were the norm for anyone supporting operations. Weekends were expected.
Advice to Senior Management
Venture beyond 1950s style leadership. Communicate with your employees. Hold people accountable and follow through on commitments. Lots of opportunity for even more exceptional financial results if there was a game plan for everyone to follow rather than just the cost thing.
