The hostile working enviroment. And lousy medical benefits. That says it all.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit treating your hard working employees like dirt. Also give decent raises. 3% just doesn't cut it in this day and age.

I have been working at Preferred Homecare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great work/ life balance. Lots of opportunity to grow and expand. Good support structure in place for employees. Good insurance.

    Cons

The DME industry has taken a hard hit due to decreased Medicare reimbursement. Not sure what the future holds for DME.

I worked at Preferred Homecare full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The people seem to have a good attitude and seemed friendly. Was not there long enough to give a complete assessment of the PROS. Company did have good benefits.

    Cons

Management was not honest or forth coming with what was going on or what was being planned. Lack of organization with many changes and the offer to assist was refused, especially coming from someone who came from a larger corporation where such tasks are part of the norm and having experience. Was asking for work often and was involved with different meetings yet the Director opted to not allow me to assist with some other business changes which would work directly with his department in order to provide some experience and knowhow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that with growth comes change. Don't automatically discount current personnel as being incapable of providing necessary assistance when possible. Being self-centered or departmental centered is no way to build trust or continuity within the department or the organization. Instead of being quick to dismiss, find ways to utilize what personnel you have to get projects completed.
