I have been working at Premera Blue Cross

Pros

Stability is definitely a plus -- this company isn't going anywhere. Filled with really smart people. Trying, sometimes successfully, to change its ability to act like a nimble company. Attractive campus.

Cons

Ultra conservative. Often unable to free itself to think outside the box. Calls itself transparent but doesn't share information with the rand and file. Departments are tragically siloed. Initiatives start, stall, restart, drop under the radar and disappear with alarming frequency.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of building 3. Walk around. Mingle with the rank and file. Celebrate what's good about the company -- loudly. Share strategy. Recognize your workforce is your biggest asset and thank them for how they contribute.
