PHP supports growth of their professional staff by helping professionals obtain training above their basic role, advanced degrees and certifications.

Cons

PHP can be very hierarchial - where it is difficult to impossible to engage leaders at positioned one or more levels above you. Additionally, partnerships with physcians

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to listen and respond to front line staff and physicians. Build a vision of excellence that the "worker bees" can buy in to. Recognize that front line staff can help you resolve your big headaches.

    Pros

    Large organization so plenty of room to move around.

    Cons

    The constant demand to do more with less just grinds on staff in some of the key areas, especially IT.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Learn to plan more thoroughly so people who are already buried with work don't get blown up even more when yet again another critical need pops up. Many of these could be avoided with the proper people in charge. Stop the failing upwardly attitude.
