I worked at Presagis

Pros

They renovated the toilets this year, the coffee is free. Despite the crappy company there are some nice people there.

Cons

- culture of blame rather than encourage
- MICROMANAGEMENT
- follows the corporate line of a parent company that made layoffs "due to the economy" at a time when the parent company made a profit of hundreds of millions of dollars
- the total absense of mutual respect between employees
- split departments--part in the US, part in Canada--means things are misunderstood and mishandled all the time
- managers who have never even met their employees
- regular reorganizations
- too many directors and VPs most of whom are too self-centred and high on their own selves to even notice others are in the room--say hello to your people if you want them to think you are human!
- factionalization of the company into competing units means there is never a sense of common accomplishment
- use of shareware tools

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your employees and maybe they will start respecting each other as well. The culture of fear you cultivate is one that makes people hate the company.
Stop reorganizing the company every six months and actually try to make something work rather than giving up before it has had a chance.

I have been working at Presagis

    Pros

The customer base who are mainly in the defense industry who help design training systems for our troops, ultimately saving lives.

    Cons

Unrealistic and unfair goals and quotas based mainly on the personal relationship between management and employees. Upper management is inexperienced and is not qualified to make decisions which affect the direction of the company. Making promises to customers which have not been kept for several years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate on executing on roadmaps. Instead of finding escape goats each quarter, look at your own performance. Are you really qualified for your job?

    Great working atmosphere
Smart people who are friendly and welcoming
Solving hard problems with innovative software
    Release of M&S 2013

    Cons

Presagis has gone through recent right-sizing activities that have resulted in decreased headcount
Geographically dispersed teams offers its own challenges

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employees recognize that the current management were faced by many challenges when they took over the organization and that it takes time to turn a company around. The release of M&S 2013 marks the first tangible accomplishment in this long journey.
