Presbyterian Church in Canada – “Reformed Tradition continues in spite of National Office Indifference”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
The PCC provides opportunities for service in the community which allow individuals to use their unique gifts and talents.
Cons
National office is out of touch with the churches outside of the urban ( especially Toronto ) area. Rural and small town church needs are ignored. For example, worship resources that are date sensitive often arrive late because they are shipped with insufficient lead time to arrive at congregations outside the urban SW Ontario corridor.
Church office offers NOTHING in the way of resources or access to training in connection with effective evangelism, emergent worship programming or even use of media. We, as a denomination, are no worse than the other main line churches. Jesus weeps!
Advice to Senior Management
Be interested in what's happening in the rural / small town congregations. We aren't cash cows to simly siphon more and more contributions to PWS & D and Presbyterian Sharing and Presbytery and Synod allocations. The Church School resources are pathetic! There is nothing available for young children programming other than Kids of the Kingdom 1 and 2. The hymn books, are heavy and the print small.
