Pros

Benefits are good and the salary is average

Cons

Internal politics, lack of communication or chnage to it's employees, always feeling as though today might be your last working there.
a confusion as what products will be sold and by whom.
an overall lack of quality leadership.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house, create a new environment by replacing most of the old guard. stay the course with digital and reward those whom have educated knowledge of what should be sold when.

Short-time contract a long, long time ago when the paper crew feared the online crew.

Current Contractor - Carrier in Santa Rosa, CA

I have been working at Press Democrat as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

They are really nice to you when you start, but when they find out you are leaving, they turn on you very quick

    Cons

No room for growth, expected high demand for very little pay, "independent contractor" so they don't consider you as an employee. Be prepared to give up your life for the length of your contract. You will be working 7 days a week as a carrier. You will be charged anywhere from $2-6 each complaint. "Managers" are lazy and don't care about you. No inner personal skills. District management is not management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be thankful for the people who do give up their lives to deliver the paper. Don't take them for granted.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
