I have been working at Price Chopper Supermarkets (NY) full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People I work with. From cashiers to Store Management all hard workers and good people. The possibility of what the store could be again.

    Cons

Stress level, the amounts of paperwork & new programs that takes away from our job. The amount of fear that runs through the store that we are not going to do something just right & the focus on cutting payroll but do more. I've been here for 10 years and no longer is a family oriented company maybe at stores closer to the home office but not in Vermont and New Hampshire.

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics and the customers will come back. Don't cut payroll. Help us service our customers by cutting back on the lists & give us the payroll to take care of them. I used to be excited to go to work because we all worked to make the customer happy. And now I'm lucky if I get to see them after all the check lists and observations and computer lists that need to be done each day. The customers can tell when a staff is stressed or divided from taking care of them. It's not fun going to work each day knowing your going to fail and never get everything done they want you to. Lastly the answer to every mistake is not a daily sign off sheet.

  2. Not a bad summer job
