PricewaterhouseCoopers – “Advisory is not ready to compete...”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
Having PwC backing certain aspects of projects is a definite plus. Many intelligent people are throughout the firm and the firm offers outstanding training on numerous subjects and areas.
If you are able to land a project that falls into your subject matter expertise, working at PwC can be a great place.
Cons
it is hard to compete in Advisory vs Deloitte, IBM, or Accenture. Sr. Management are all formers Auditors or Accountants which is very good for some aspects of consulting, nonetheless an 'out of the box' type mindset to sell projects is lacking thus the lack of work/projects.
Advice to Senior Management
More former consultants should be at the Principal and Director level in the Advisory level. The lack of people who have gone through the ranks of the consulting business shows, when the firm does not win projects that are going to other competing firms.
