    I worked at Primerica

    Pros

    I did learn a lot about P&C, life insurance, annuities, and mortgage industry.

    Cons

    They focus on "building your business" by recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. Recruiting is their client list - sell to the recruit and run through their warm market selling them anything they can under the guise of having to own the product to do a good job of selling the product. This is a money pit! Their products are mediocre at best, they pay minimal commish so they can pay at least six generations deep.

    I worked at Primerica full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Co-workers are by and large pleasant. Lots of opportunities for charity fundraising, if that's your thing.

    Cons

    Development is on outdated technology/platforms. Management DOES NOT want to hear that their plan is flawed. Promotion via nepotism/tenure rather than merit. Technical departments are managed by people with ZERO technical experience. Constant pressure to meet internal charity fundraising goals by giving back portions of your paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Sweep out anybody in management that doesn't have legitimate technical experience, stop developing for the bottom-feeders of technology.
