I worked at Princess Cruise Lines full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company values are excellent; product is one you can be proud of. Historically, the company has been very reliable, making efforts not to lay people off. Work is interesting and often varied. 9/80 work schedule is great.

    Cons

"Do more with less" strategy has been pushed to its limits, so that people are working nights and weekends as a matter of course. IT support is spotty at best. Company principles in terms of how they treat their employees seem to be changing. Impossible to know yet what effect the new Carnival CEO will have on the culture.

    Advice to Management

You can only push people so far before they break... or make a break for it. Princess has been an excellent company, but you need to take care of the people who work there or the problems will just grow.

    Pros

Great medical, dental, and vision coverage. Optional 9/80 work week. Cruise discounts for you, friends, and family.

    Cons

Not alot of room for advancement. Pay is WAY below industry standards - it is a running joke around the office how little everyone makes. Extremely awkward corporate atmosphere.
