I have been working at Princeton Review part-time (less than a year)

Pros

-working with some of the smartest people I've ever met
-flexible hours
-excellent pay
-the service you provide really works!!!

Cons

-work can be inconsistent, especially in the winter
-polarized classes can happen (half the class is really smart, the other half is not)
-sometimes they'll get into a bind and need you to teach a class at the last minute
-but...it's pretty hard to find things to complain about!

I worked at Princeton Review full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The opportunities to work with an ever-changing group of students is amazingly rewarding.

    Cons

Management acted like teenagers going through some wacked-out hormonal period. Poor customer service on their part made working with clients a balancing act of teaching/tutoring and fixing basic customer service problems (for example: clients never receiving score reports, repeated calls/emails to office staff going unanswered, payments not processed, phone calls being ended abruptly by staff hanging up on clients).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have staff that are amazing and staff that are drinking out of red-plastic-cups during the day... you need to figure out who is actually doing the work and who is taking credit for it.

Better than most, but not great

I worked at Princeton Review (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun office environment, pretty cool students, better pay than others, overseas opportunities for qualified instructors.

    Cons

When the OC and LA areas returned to corporate, it all went downhill. Pay was cut, bonuses retracted, and the "fun" vibe of the office diminished. You'd be better off marketing yourself as a solo tutor if you know your stuff and get results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Loosen up.
