I worked at Princeton Review part-time

Pros

The training is very thorough and there's plenty of support from the management if you have additional questions. There's also a lot of flexibility in scheduling, which is nice. For the most part the kids are great too, and perhaps more importantly the classes are small so they're relatively easy to manage.

Cons

Some times it's frustrating when you miss out on a job because you didn't reply to the email quickly enough

I have been working at Princeton Review full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a great place to get introduced in the field of test prep. There are a lot of very smart people working there. It is definitely a place filled with younger recent college grads so it's pretty high energy at times.

    Cons

This is a position that very much a sales quote with a number you have to hit, but offers very little in terms of additional compensation. If you are young with the ability to relocate to different states or even countries, there are opportunities to move up the food chain. But if you are more settled, there are not as many steps of any ladder to climb.

I have been working at Princeton Review as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

For a pre-med with time between college and medical school, this is an excellent part-time. Teaching hours are generously paid, and everything from training/prep to transportation and supplies is compensated. Helping students in a similar position to you is rewarding. Administrative people at the local office are friendly, laid-back, and helpful. You pick your hours and days.

    Cons

You're hired as a contractor, so there's no guarantee you'll work as many hours as you want, or even at all. Training is intensive, and passing it is not certain. Trainings for different MCAT subjects are not always available in the near future. Expect to spend plenty of time going over material before class.
