I worked at ProBuild as a contractor (less than an year)

Pros

Job is exciting and always changes. Everyone is friendly. My team is very welcoming. Everyone works hard.

Cons

Position is currently temporary. There is not always consistency or best practices in place. Corporate and the field don't always see eye to eye on many topics

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to get best practices in place and align corporate and the field by having the field share their best practices and what works for them now and in the past.

I have been working at ProBuild full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Still waiting.......some good employees, but they move on and out of ProBuild.

    Cons

Too many levels of management. Lack of communication, incentives, recognition , mobility for hourly employees. Too many contract employees. 75% of HR looking to leave. No backfill when employees leave. Tired of hearing "change is hard"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of Director Level of Mgt. Not needed. Engage and invest in your employees. Stop hiring at the top and keep the lower levels staffed. Learn how to mentor your employees.
