Pros

The reputation of the company is wonderful. Working for Procter & Gamble in Marketing has really increased my job opportunities within the Consumer Products industry.

Cons

You are generally required to spend some time working out of Cincinnati. There are limited opportunities in Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Boston. As the company is entirely promote from within, any external experience is disregarded. There is a lot of beauracracy and it takes a long time for things to get done.

Advice to Management

Remove certain layers of management and better define roles. I dont' have a job description and I'm not even sure what my manager does.

    Pros

Security and stability. Clear processes and they care about their employees in the surface level.

    Cons

The company wants soldiers to fit into the P&G processes-individual contributors who are not average/mediocre are not advance. This leads the company to have a very vanilla flavor-which is very negative to a consumer company-specially in this times where the consumer is more discerning and multicultural. They can have diversity inititatives but the main diversity is accepting and valuing different values, background, thought processes and execution modes-and in that P&G is in the 60s.

    Advice to Management

Look outside the average mediocre people-creative people who are wired differently bring value too.

    Pros

Procter and Gamble provides good life and work balance. Salaries are also competitive. Other thing I like about this is company is that you can choose to persue your carrier in other fields too.

    Cons

Company is so big that sometime your work can be overlooked. Only people from higher ranks are invited in important business meetings. Whereas, most of the work is done by people from t1 level. Having these folks present at the meeting can help answer some important questions.

    Advice to Management

Give more freedom to people with hand on experience in Lab work in terms of experiment and usage of materials. Less formality in meeting connecting with higher management can also help.
