I have been working at Procter & Gamble full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people, affordable cost of living, great brands, great training

    Cons

Start at the bottom, slow to move up, little growth in the US means folks in the emerging markets get promoted much faster

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to fix the career promotion process, if it's up or out, then it's up or out... I don't think you should be allowed to be a Brand Manager for more than 4 years... if you cant get promoted then you need to go, same with AD and MD (and above). The promote from within system only works if you can keep the train moving, or else you will only have people that are from Cinci (or don't care about waiting for 15 years to make MD) staying in P&G.

    Pros

The people at level are good to work with.

    Company car.
    Lots of responsibility.
    Company Name carries weight.
    Autonomy.
    Ownership of business.
    Great brands.
    Cares about their people.
Tries to do "the right thing"

    Cons

    Lack of innovation.
Rock stars become average mediocre countrymen.
Hired to keep the machine going. Not to improve, progress, move forward.
    Style is rewarded over substance.
Not a safe place to make take risks & learn.
    Losing top talent to competition.
Some leadership severely out of touch.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Every leader at director level and higher needs a buddy a account executive level for perspective and to provide input into upcoming company initiatives, direction, strategy, etc. I believe this will go a long way in reducing the gap of reality versus perception and then truly enabling organization to win and change the game.
