Great company for the first 3 years, after that it struggles with an internal motivation system

Current Employee - Assistant Brand Manager in Geneva (Switzerland)

I have been working at Procter & Gamble full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

- Great learning, particularly if you are fresh out of university
- Ability to own/lead projects from day 1
- Great people - a bunch of very smart, motivated and fun young people
- Promote from within

Cons

- The internal motivation system based on fast career progression is currently failing as the company is stopping to promote people
- Decision process can be lengthy and it does not always lead to the right decisions on the business

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Company needs to work out the Employee Value Proposition (what makes the employees stay and be excited about working for P&G). Currently the Company neither pays better nor offers a fast career. This may be a trouble to keep the good people.

Former Employee - Market, Strategy & Planning in Frankfurt am Main (Germany)

I worked at Procter & Gamble as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

If you like working in a young team you'll definitely like P&G - it's all open offices and you might end up working next to your boss
You're always encouraged to go and talk to coworkers, get their help and input as well as share knowledge with them
also the lunch dates and coffee breaks are highly valued and help you get to know your coworkers better

    Cons

You are always dependent on some input from other people - sometimes it gets annoying having to wait for information from someone else
You need to love working in FMCGs, otherwise it will be difficult for you to identify with what you are doing there, with the products you are selling, and the impact (or non-impact) you are having on people's lives
