Pros

Weekly training; multi-functional meetings and access to not only your manager but the Marketing leadership team.

Cons

Focus on customer teams (Sales) led to marketing work being sidelined or de-prioritised; high turnover means you constantly need to pick up slack.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire new people when someone leaves - doing work for 2 for more than a few weeks makes output sub-standard and excellent outcomes almost impossible to achieve.

    I worked at Procter & Gamble as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

    it has great coaching; you will find a very inclusive company culture; there are a lots of young employees; competitive salary; continuous socialization occasions; possibility to switch to other functions.

    Cons

    sometimes too much focused on execution; small chance to go abroad if in the sales division; working hours can be tough - 9am to 9 pm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Coaching should be spread more evenly during the entire duration of the internship.

    I have been working at Procter & Gamble full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    - You work with the most talented people around the world. The brain power available is outstanding across functions and geographies.
    - The possibility to work on complex, diverse projects and assignments that help to develop strong technical expertise in several law practice fields.
    - The company makes a strong effort to provide comfortable office spaces, so you are able to concentrate on what matters most: getting the job done -swiftly-.
    - There's a lot of training involved, which enables you to develop strong managerial skills.
    - You may develop skills in areas outside your function, i.e. training people, interviewing candidates, etc.
    - The challenges are considerable and the amount and breath of work makes it almost impossible to get bored.

    Cons

    - Being a big company, things move slow. Bureaucracy can sometimes be an illness.
    - The pressure can be crazy at times. With the productivity efforts, the trend is that fewer resources get to tackle more work.
    - At some point in your career (B3 and above), office politics become a part of your day. You need to get along well with people and be consistent, dependable and assertive no matter the circumstance. Being too honest with your thoughts can be interpreted as a weakness.
    - The company attracts and hires top-5 candidates, but you will be most likely paid as if you belong to the 50% percentile rank. I have a hard time understanding this, it makes no sense.
    - Advancement can be slow, it depends not only on your work but rather heavily on your sponsors. Hence, politics play a great deal when it comes to promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - I believe top management is working hard to make P&G more agile, less bureaucratic and more business-reliable in the eyes of shareholders by empowering employees to lead and execute as owners of the business.
    - Attention should be paid to compensation promptly. Meaningful projects are enriching from a career standpoint, but do not help when at the end of the month you are no able to fully cover basic expenses such as housing, food and services. Headhunters are taking note of this.
