I have been working at Procter & Gamble

Pros

The work is challenging, but rewarding.

Cons

Pay descrepancy between different ABMs is definitely the worst part of the job. Undergrad ABMs come in at $60,000 per year (in 2007 at least) while MBAs come in at $85,000. This $25,000 per year difference does not change until you have been at the company for 5+ years. DO NOT WORK HERE AND GO GET YOUR MBA UNLESS YOU QUIT AND GO TO GRAD SCHOOL FULL TIME.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work out pay discrepancies between junior employees and work to promote your top talent regardless of time at level (as is the case with 'winning brand building')

I have been working at Procter & Gamble

    Pros

Lots of responsibility. Solid pay. Smart people. Competitive atmospher. Big brands. Solid reputation around the world. Promote from within culture.

    Cons

High level of complexity sorting through multiple layers of management make it difficult to get things in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be agile. Learn to communicate with people on the ground doing the work.. Sometimes the decisions seem to be made outside of discussion with those that have to execute.

I worked at Procter & Gamble

    Pros

The benefits, network and presumptions external HR people make regarding the almighty P&G

    Cons

Way too big. Feel they can buy technology, rather than invest in it. Just a big distribution giant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get off your high horse and take advantage of the people who want to grow.
