Procter & Gamble – “Came From Gillette treated as though beneath P&G standards”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
Very prestigious comapany, treated like royality when interacting with companies outside of Proctor and Gamble. Proctor and Gamble is very supportive of continuing education. Facilities are state of the art..
Cons
As a Gillette "carry over" life at Proctor and Gamble (P&G) was shear misery. "Gilletters" are second class citizens in the world of P&G. You are constantly reminded that P&G is superior to anything Gillette, including it's personnel. There are two sets of compensation and benefits; one for the "true P&G" employees and the other for the "Gillette carry overs". The lesson to be learned here is; if your company is being bought or persued for purchase by P&G, BEWARE. Despite what P&G may promise the employees of the tendered company, the reality will be misery.
Advice to Senior Management
Tell the truth to the perspective employees which may be comng into P&G via acquistions. That being they will never be treated as a "true" P&G" employee in that salaries will be frozen, benefits stripped, and the overall respect shown will be essentially non-existent.
