I worked at Progress Energy full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

When it was Progress Energy it had the best benefits around the city. Flexible work environment. Employees were valued and challenged to the next level. The new Duke Energy does not bring to the table what Progress Energy offered their employees.

Cons

May work alot of hours.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company should have remained Progress Energy and not Duke Energy.

    Pros

    Flexible work schedules to choose from.
    Average salaries and benefits.
    Multiple work locations which can be a plus.

    Cons

    Current company is in flux as it is absorbed by Duke Energy based out of Charlotte.
    No career paths provided or promoted unless you are willin to move.

    Build trust and provide career paths to allow progression from within.

    Transparency of Senior Management's actions, integrity, great people to work with and to work for

    Cons

    Communication has come a long way in the last 11 years but cross departmental was restricted, I.T. seems to drive everything in the company instead of the other way around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You should have steered clear of the Duke merger because that is one unethical, backstabbing group of executive managers
