Worst Company Ever

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

Pros

There are a lot of good people that work there.

Cons

They give a false sense of empowerment and pretend to embrace your business ideas... when in reality, it's like working in a version of the Hunger Games. Upper Management interferes with how mid-management runs their business - then blame them when their idea fails. They claim they are a "people" company but I only saw that if the employee was earning them a considerable amount of cash... even then.. they did not really treat employees with respect.

Advice to Management

Develop uniform company policies and if you give your word

I worked at Progressive Business Publications full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

New CEO seems to be turning things around as owner moves on. Some new talent being hired. Starting to think about the customer is spreading. Moving away from massive email sending to be more modern. Flexible with family and work life issues.

    Cons

Will new people and new CEO be accepted by some old timers who haven't worked in the "new" economy... All the stuff looks dated, from the newsletters to the bathrooms. Improvement of image needed. Lots of money for college scholarships, but only a select few get it, middle aged high paid managers... does nothing for 90% of employees

    Advice to Management

Decide who should be empowered, time to kill old products with lots of over head.
