I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than a year

Pros

For the most part you are left alone and not micromanaged. Pretty easy to sell, as it's a good product at a good price.

Cons

Pay is low. They try and compensate with occasional contests where you can win gift cards. Supervisors are not interested in developing agents, as there is absolutely no chance for promotion or advancement. Instead, they spend most of their time online shopping.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put the supervisors to work. Too much time is spent screwing around online doing nothing. Supervisors working from home is a joke. Most don't do anything while in the office. Make employees feel valued. A global company like Progressive should be able to provide a career, not just a mind numbing job.

I have been working at Progressive Insurance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    good pay
    job stability
    casual dress code
    onsite gym

    Cons

    very difficult to advance
    unrealistic job expectations
    impossible workload
There's alot of talk about diversity and inclusion and work environment, but once you start the job all that matters is how quickly you can work with no mistakes. Nonstop, not a moment of downtime ever. Job objectives and goals set forth by upper management (who've never done the job) are unattainable. Performance reviews are about not meeting the job objectives, therefore, no raise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do the call center rep job for a few days, no matter what dept you're in. Experience for yourselves the workload and expectations before you talk about work/life balance and improving the work environment.
