PMI is a rewarding organization that has potential to be better, but senior management doesn't trust employees enough.

    Pros

    Great benefits package and compensation

    Cons

Challenging to balance work and personal life needs. Surprisingly cut-throat corporate culture for a non-profit organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider more 360 degree feedback between high-performing employees and the new CEO. Many are personally vested in the organization and the profession, as is the chief executive, but the integrity of senior management and the quality of internal project estimates are questionable.

A nice place to coast, the project management is not what you would expect

I worked at Project Management Institute

    Pros

Nice people, some cool technology projects, good work/life balance, a visible commitment to improving processes.

    Cons

The business is resistant to change and slow to do anything. A few poor technology decisions in the past five years and mis-management on key projects have resulted in burdening systems.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If PMI had competition, it would cease to exists. Start encouraging innovation and an entrepreneurial culture.
