Former Employee - Presentation Specialist/Graphic Designer in Schaumburg, IL

I worked at PromoWorks as a contractor (less than an year)

Pros

If you have the stamina to work 11-12 hour days in endless meetings and in front of your laptop, then you can rake in some good money, I suppose.

Cons

Impossible workloads and completely unrealistic deadlines due to never-ending rounds of changes.
Also they Refuse to Pay Overtime, willingly breaking US Labor Laws!

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Note to Upper Management: Stop wasting freelancer's time with endless meetings about never-ending rounds of changes so that your freelancer can Actually perform the work during 'normal' business hours.

I have been working at PromoWorks part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

You make your own schedule, the pay per hour is decent.

    Cons

They pay you late every time, it is difficult to have any simple question answered, there is no sense of accountability among the staff here, you need to get along well with your scheduler or you may not get scheduled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Answer questions from your Engagement Specialists, be available to your staff, make your ES's feel appreciated by paying more. Start paying on time.

    Pros

Fun products, friendly staff in markets

    Cons

low pay, mangers spy on you while you demo and go down a checklist of how you set up your demo without letting you know they are coming. lots of paperwork just to get paid.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please let us know you will coming to the store instead of spying on us, very strange. Also offer training instead of throwing employees in the store without any training at least on the first day of work.
