I worked at Promontory Financial Group as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Good pay rate for a contracted employee

    Cons

Micromanagement. Long hours. Unrealistic expectations. Rude management. Everyone is always stressed. The company culture is to operate under fear and stress. I was literally threatened to be fired on a weekly basis, yet continuously asked to train other employees and was begged to stay after I submitted my two weeks notice. Bipolar management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are other ways to create a productive work environment other than threatening employees and treating them as less than human.

Foreclosure review: clueless management, zero morale

I worked at Promontory Financial Group as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

The people I worked with at Promontory were some of the best coworkers I've ever had. We really had to band together to get through all of the nonsense that arose from the managers' utter cluelessness.

    Cons

The managers were utterly clueless. To call them "micromanagers" isn't enough; they were "nanomanagers" despite knowing less about the foreclosure process than the most junior analyst.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Graduating from Princeton six months ago does not automatically qualify a person for management of a complex foreclosure review process. God help Promontory if its friends in the Treasury Department retire or stop sending business your way.
