    I worked at Protiviti

    Pros

-- Talented and passionate teammates and interesting projects, if you get on the right team
-- If you are lucky you will find a great team that cares about you, from the consultants that you work with all the way up to the MD
-- Depending on the team structure, you can have opportunities to prove yourself and take on more responsibilities
-- Days to work from home when you are on a long term engagement with a lot of travel

    Cons

-- Sometimes finding a good project is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Very few real consulting engagements vs. internal audit projects
-- Management has very little concern in keeping staff interested and learning. If a client loves you and you've been on a project for 1+ year, you have to fight very very very hard to go and learn something new, which is not why we joined consulting in the first place...
-- Strong possibility of being thrown under the bus
-- Internal initiatives go no where

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-- Stop thinking of your personnel as just someone to plug onto a team.
    -- Keep selling consulting engagements.
-- Get rid of the wall between all the different groups. Projects need diff types of knowledge and talents. You have the people with the knowledge, put them to use.
