Former Employee – worked at Provide Commerce
Pros – Decent work/life balance, great benefits, lots of talent to work alongside, monthly company meetings, occasional morale boosting gifts.
Cons – What management says it does with regard to employee relations and what it actually does are often two completely different things, emphasis on getting things done now at the expense of getting them done right, no path for advancement unless you start in CS or NOC and can work your way into another department, people with no management training or skills in management positions, little individual recognition for achievements unless you're "in" with people in charge, previously mentioned pro of work/life balance must be fought for and if you take advantage of it you risk having it count against you during a review, pay is low in some roles as compared to the rest of the industry.
Advice to Senior Management – Reward and appreciate talent across the board, not just people who management is friends with. Put people in management positions because of their management skills and experience, not because they're a good friend of yours and you get along with them. Professing that upper management cares about the employees needs to be backed up with action, not a repeat of the same old divisive practices. Cheap gifts and company events cannot make up for day to day inequality and poor employee support.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
